Got questions?
Well, we’ve got Answers

Does my property need to be vacant and compliant before leasing?

Yes — your property will need to be vacant prior to the start of the lease. It must also meet current safety and compliance standards, including fire safety, electrical certification, and heating requirements.

If any upgrades or remedial works are required, Urban Home can guide you through what’s needed and, in many cases, assist in arranging the works to bring the property up to standard.

How does the long-term lease model benefit landlords?

Our model is designed to remove the uncertainty that comes with traditional letting. You receive: Guaranteed monthly rent for the full term, No void periods or arrears risk,No tenant management responsibilities, a fully hands-off experience

For many landlords, this creates a more stable and predictable income stream with significantly less day-to-day involvement.

Who occupies the property?

We work with a range of carefully selected accommodation providers in the public sector which may include:

  • Local Authorities
  • Key workers
  • MOD
  • Individuals placed via supported housing providers
  • Tenants sourced through our accommodation partners
What responsibilities do I have as a landlord?

Your responsibilities are minimal compared to traditional letting. Typically, you remain responsible for: Structural elements of the property (e.g. roof, external walls) Building insurance, any major capital works (if required) We handle everything else — including day-to-day management, compliance, maintenance, and occupant-related matters.

How is maintenance and occupant damage handled?

We take a proactive approach to property care. All day-to-day maintenance is managed by our team, regular inspections are carried out to identify issues early, and any occupant-related damage is repaired at our cost. Our goal is to ensure your property is well maintained throughout the lease and returned in agreed condition, allowing for fair wear and tear.
